About

Why We started Cavern & Keep

Cavern & Keep didn’t really start as a business. It started the way a lot of things do for people like us—sitting around a table, rolling dice, getting way too into a campaign, and staying up later than we probably should. We’re a family that plays together. We run D&D, we’ve been getting into Daggerheart, and honestly, game night is just part of our routine at this point. At some point, we started wanting more out of our table setup. Not in a huge, over-the-top way—we just wanted things to feel a little more real. A dungeon that actually looked like a dungeon. Lighting that made a scene feel tense instead of just… flat. So we started adding pieces to our own games, and it made a bigger difference than we expected. People noticed. Friends asked where we got stuff. Other players wanted the same kind of setup. That’s basically where Cavern & Keep came from. We don’t make the terrain ourselves—we are licensed by creators whose designs we really like and actually use in our own games. That part matters to us. We’re not just picking random products to sell. If it’s in our shop, it’s something we’d put on our own table. We also try to keep things reasonably priced. This hobby can get expensive fast, and we’re dealing with that same reality. Between books, minis, dice, and everything else, it adds up. So we do our best to offer stuff that feels worth it without going overboard. At the end of the day, we’re just gamers like you. We like good sessions, cool setups, and those moments where everyone leans in because something actually feels immersive. If what we carry helps create more of those moments at your table, then we’re doing something right.

Sincerely
Chris
